Jute geotextile fabric is a naturally occurring, biodegradable material derived from jute fibers that can be used to sustainably maintain landscapes and prevent soil erosion. It is robust but porous, allowing water to pass through while retaining soil, which promotes healthier plant growth.

When placed to an exposed soil surface, jute geotextiles function as tiny check dams or micro terraces, lower the kinetic energy of raindrop splashes, stop soil particle separation and migration, and eventually promote rapid vegetation growth by creating mulch.
